Wear what pleases you best!
We've made suggestions on the invitations based on what we'll be wearing and the type of Indian attire you'll likely see at each event.
In Atlanta, try Mirage Sarees for in-person shopping.
Online, check out Mirraw or Utsav Fashion
(It's been known to take at least 2-3 months for online orders to arrive.
The sooner you order the safer.)
11:00AM
A casual beginning to the festivities, the Haldi Ceremony is all about blessing the couple with good wishes for the upcoming marriage. Family and friends from both sides take turns smearing a paste made of turmeric on the bride and groom. It's yellow hue symbolises joy, prosperity, and new beginnings.
The Shakespeare Tavern
499 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta GA 30308
Suggested Attire: Indian or Western Smart Casual
Indian: The internet will show you lots of yellow! This is because turmeric stains clothes yellow.
We'll be wearing yellow - but you don't have to.
Look for lighter weight materials that aren't heavily embroidered or complicated. Indo-Western styles or a kurta paired with slacks is a great entry point.
Western Smart Casual: a summery midi/maxi dress or top and skirt combo with a more relaxed shoe style like wedges or even dressy flats; a suit is definitely not required! A button-up shirt paired with chinos and a more casual alternative like boat shoes or loafers.
6:00PM
Mehndi (or Henna) is both practical and symbolic. Practical because, in Ayurvedic tradition, henna has a cooling and calming effect. Sybmbolically, it is said to bring luck, ward off negativity, and protect the new couple.

Suggested Attire: Indian or Western Smart Casual
Indian: We suggest keeping it fun and not too formal with deep colors and flowing lightweight fabrics. Consider skirted choices like lehengas or anarkalis, or flowing modern styles like a sharara or palazzo suit.
Western Smart Casual: Relaxed but polished, similar to the Haldi Ceremony. In fact, wear the same thing if you want!
6:00PM
Sangeet is derived from Sanskrit meaning "sung together." Cameron loves Karaoke and Amee loves being literal!
We're going to combine the best of both worlds by starting off the evening with a traditional Gujarati group dance (Garba). After dinner, when you might be too full to dance, karaoke!
The Westside Warehouse
996 Huff Road NW, Atlanta GA 30318
Suggested Attire: Indian Garba or Western Cocktail
Indian: Garba is all about color! Look for chaniya cholis (skirt/top), lehengas, kurta suits, and things you can move in comfortably.
Western Cocktail: A step up from smart casual.
4:00PM
Are you ready for the best day of the year?!
We are!
The groom's side will be parading into the venue with a joyous and raucous Baraat to start the ceremony.
After the groom's side arrives to the Mandap (wedding altar), a prayer to the Hindu diety Lord Ganesh, is performed.
After the ceremony, enjoy a cocktail reception while photos are taken and speeches are given.
Then it's dinner and dancing!

Suggested Attire: Indian or Western Semi-Formal
Indian: Embroidery, mirror work, and or sparkles on any type of fabric (it will be summer after all) in any style that pleases you!
Western Semi-Formal: Dress to impress. It's August in Atlanta, so maybe just don't wear a tuxedo or ballgown!
